Happy Birthday, Alden!

Thank you, to so many generous friends and family for sending Alden cards or gifts - he had a very happy day (as did Soren, who joined right in with opening presents despite his brother's best efforts to clarify that it was HIS party).

Wasem Fruit Farm

With a short window of good weather before an entire afternoon of rain, we headed out to Wasem Fruit Farm, our favorite Michigan orchard so far, and ate multiple doughnuts each, too many apples,

and soaked up the autumn day. A few photos are here.

Alden bag ride

This is a very representative Alden-created game. To frame the moment - he has duct-taped one yard bag onto his shirt like a cape (rocket boosters), and the other is rolled up over his head - I think just to provide darkness for the ride.  Thanks to Elizabeth's cousin Amy and family for the wagon and track which has maintained its preeminent status in our backyard - although Im not sure where Alden can take the sport from here . . .
