Alden: Scientist, Cultist, Consumer

(Above) Carl brought home some dry ice for Alden to investigate. It was a big hit.

(Above) We took a family trip to Silver Lake, but missed the turn and ended up at another lake, apparnetly well known for attracting hippies.  Alden immediately made friends with a group of folks, dressed exclusively in white, who were gathered on the beach doing Tai Chi and Shiatsu. He got them to pitch baseballs to him (with a Tennis raquet) for about an hour.

(Above) Lastly, as he pondered his existence (as a tie-wearing dinosaur), he came up with this winning statement: "Mommy, if we went to the dollar store, we could get, like, 8 swords"

As the parents, it's not terribly surprising that we think these photos are cute,
...well except for the last one, which is a little Exorcist/Creepy Doll-esque.

soren meets apple sauce

This video is of Soren discovering how to eat apple sauce.  This isn't the first time we've attempted to feed him, but it was the first time he seemed to enjoy the process -- it became more up his alley once he realized he could hold the spoon (and the apple sauce).

When I showed this to Elizabeth, she said, "I dont think anyone besides the kid's parents enjoy videos like this."  Perhaps she's right, but we've been busy and I don't have anything else to share.  On that note . .

Grandpa Fred was given strict instructions here:  Get your lap ready, hold Soren, don't move until he wakes up.  I think it was a nice, restful break for both of them.
