Day One with Taco the Monkey

Alden's school has a pet monkey named Taco, who is sent home with each kid for a weekend during the school year.  We learned on Friday that this was Alden's Taco weekend and so this morning we dutifully read the accompanying book in which high-achieving parents have created photo and text stories about all of Taco's adventures with their families.  Here are some shots of Taco's first morning with us -- they include: a llama farm, peeing in the woods, and running through a bog. Taco is now just about as dirty as Alden.

Grandma Lo Swoops In

Grandma Lo was in town for two weeks and the Koschmanns lived it up (well, Carl worked a truckload, but the rest of us lived it up). Grandma took over house management and cooked, cleaned, shopped, organized, enhanced general safety, gardened, raked, potty trained, fed, enteratined, and chauffered. She is back home in Massachusetts, but we are filled with happy memories of trips to the Hands on Museum (seen above and below), as well as days just hanging out together. Thanks, Grandma Lois!

-- (Pantsless, covered in poo he runs behind the couch)
- "Alden, what are you doing?"
-- (laughing) "Im hiding in the bushes."
