For the past four years, on the first blue-skied, sunny, cool day of the season, we've gone to Wasem Farm - our favorite local apple orchard and donutery. First the boys watch as donuts are made from scratch inside the window; then we wander through the trees playing silly games and eating far too many donuts and apples. This year was fantastic and a wonderful day of easy family time in the context of a crazy-making fall.
