What the world sounds like to a 9 year old right now...

At dinner tonight, we were talking with Soren about the challenges of recess and not being sure who to play with or what to play. Soren told us a little bit about how he doesn't always like the same games as his classmates. So Alden piped up with this brotherly advice: "Oh Soren, you should just try lifting weights with Squi and PJ and those guys, and drinking about 1000 beers."

Birthday Eve!

Alden requested a kickball game for his birthday party, which ended up being in the pouring rain... and yet somehow well attended and a total blast. We're still not sure how 20+ 3rd grade boys wrestled and rock climbed in the basement afterwards and no one left with a broken bone, but we're calling it a success! Tomorrow, our baby turns 9! How is that possible?
