the office

Alden often entertains guests in his office (here pictured with Aunt Jen). He likes to sit up (with a little couch support), tell stories, chew on his book, and, more generally, take care of business (T.C.B.)

moss

In seattle, you need to introduce your child to moss early, lest they run into it later and freak out.

zoo!

Alden's (second) trip to the zoo -- dad's first. In the blurry background above is a hibernating brown bear -- Alden, appropriately for once, opens his eyes wide.

The chimpanzees were a good find -- it was a slow day at the zoo, and this baby chimp (staring at Alden) was waiting for someone to play with, as his mom (above) was crashed out. I got Alden out of the carseat and sat him face-to-face, and the two giggled/drooled and somer-saulted, respectively.

We were joined (actually hosted) by Nick and Thomas Radesky. Both were found here -- surprised to be pictured in their natural habitat. Not a bad afternoon for the four dudes. .

first construction project

The Bear got in on the action building a roof over the front porch -- he decided to use his medium-sized framing hammer (below). He decided cedar was the obvious choice for the roof -- a risky call, but we all agreed with him in the end . .

spit-up monster

No, thats not a fashionable stripe down mom's back -- thats 100% spit-up.

We have multiple leads and suspects for the offending vomiteur; but this young man here, captured on surveillance, had means, motive, and opportunity. Unfortunately, he is roaming free right now, possibly committing serial spit-ups. . .
